        Hi, I’m Melanie—a college professor turned solopreneur and 2x nonprofit founder who happily lives right here in Bethany Beach.

        It wasn’t long into my journey as a solopreneur that I discovered how lonely the world of working for yourself can be without a trustworthy community by your side.

        From the crushing disappointment of empty promises...

        to the disorientation of too many voices sharing too many “formulas for success”...

        to not having a community for meaningful and supportive feedback to guide my work.
        I knew solopreneurs like us deserved something better; something built on integrity, accessibility, and compassion.

        ‍        So I created Your Business Retreat and channeled my years of teaching, traveling, and leading into making it a place you could count on to breathe, think, and create surrounded by good-hearted women.

        Your days at Bethany Beach could look like this…

        While we do have a general flow for each day outlined in the itinerary (click here to check it out!), this is not a rigid schedule you’ll be expected to follow.
         
        Each activity is an invitation that you can choose to accept if you believe it will serve you, or you are welcome to decline in favor of something that better suits your needs.

        Your Morning

        No mandatory wake-up calls here. Start your day your way.
        You might step out the door of our Inn for a sunrise beach walk and then join a group of like-minded women for your personalized breakfast in the Dining Room right when the kitchen opens at 7:30.
        Or you could sleep in later than you have since you were a teenager (without guilt!) and enjoy a quiet late-morning snack on the porch as you reflect on your takeaways from yesterday’s guided journaling session.

        After you’ve enjoyed your first meal of the day—carefully crafted just for you by Chef Justin—you might decide to join the group at the Guest House for the morning’s activity.

        Some mornings, I will lead you through curated activities designed to surface those ideas that have been pushed down for way too long...
        And on other days, Maegan will facilitate sessions designed to help you figure out your own individual approach to rest and self-care.

        Your Daily Flow

        Then, the day is yours. No calendar alerts, no meetings, no due dates. Just the opportunity to prioritize your own needs without hesitation or judgment.
        You could sign up for a one-on-one coaching session with me, where you can explore and solve challenges together that have kept you feeling stuck and stagnant. You’ll leave these conversations with actionable insights and strategies, ready for your next move.

        You could then head out for a solo walk through the Hallmark-esque town of Bethany Beach to process your latest breakthrough, or simply delight in the charming downtown with a newfound friend you instantly connected with and turn off your business brain for a while.
        Maybe then you’ll start to turn your inspiration into action by bouncing ideas off your fellow attendees, sitting side-by-side in the rocking chairs on the oceanfront balcony while you munch on your personalized snacks.
        Or, if you’re craving some relaxation, meet Maegan on the beach and let the rhythm of the waves reset your thinking. Rather spend the time alone? No one will bat an eye. Instead, you could go for a relaxing bike ride (or do literally anything else).
        Have a big project you came here intending to tackle? Find your perfect spot for uninterrupted work, whether it's a cozy window seat or a beachfront balcony. (Or leave your laptop in your room and bring your book instead!)
        Then you might join a beachside yoga session with an instructor from a local yoga studio who came to the inn just for our group. Not a yogi? Feel free to simply sit and watch the ocean, letting your mind wander—or hey, go take a nap!

        Your Evening

        Before dinner, you could join the group for a session facilitated by Melanie and Maegan. Whether you want to simply listen from the couch or share your experience with the group, your choice is valid here.
        End the day by sitting down to a meal as thoughtful as the conversations around the table. You’ll get to savor each bite, knowing the food in front of you was made just for you. (And, of course, you won’t have to worry about clean up!)

            Day 1: Come Ashore

            When you touchdown in Bethany Beach, you’ll meet others who also committed to this remarkable experience! We’ll enjoy snacks and hors d’oeuvres and get to know each other. You’ll get a chance to familiarze yourself with your cozy room, the beach, and the property. We’ll end the day with dinner and a writing activity. Retreat check-in at 3 p.m. EST.

            Day 2: Setting Sail

            We’ll dive into our retreat by setting our individual goals and focusing on collaborative support. You’ll define your aspirations, leverage writing alongside your new friends, and have lots of uninterrupted time—with the ocean as your backdrop—to make tangible progress.

            Day 3: Navigating Progress

            We’ll each reflect, evaluate, and possibly adjust course. With supportive guidance, you’ll reflect on your journey so far, evaluate your progress, and continue to use writing as a powerful self-discovery tool. You’ll have opportunities for feedback, if that’s a fit for you. For dinner, you can explore the culinary scene in Bethany Beach, just a short walk or bike ride away.

            We’ll end our time together by celebrating your achievements and the progress you made during our time together. Cherish connections forged with fellow business owners and bid the beach farewell with a renewed sense of energy and excitement. Retreat check-out at 11 a.m. EST.
